Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a very important day that many people need to recognize and they do. Memorial Day is a day in which we honor those who serve in the military because without them we would be powerless. We also remember those who died while fighting for our nation. We basically just thank and honor everyone who was in the army and are still in the army. This is to honor those who died in the military. Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday of May. There are many ways you show honor and respect on Memorial Day. Some of these ways are collection for troops, discounts and free offers, volunteering, highlight soldiers, stories, and parades. What I do to honor Memorial Day is thank my sister’s husband and all his friends. The reason I do this is because my sister’s husband is in the navy and of course so are his friends. They are very polite and not as strict as people make them out to be. Even though I can’t see them every day because they live in San Diego I still call them on special occasions and of course always on Memorial Day. his name is Scott Frable and i will always honor the way he fights for our country. i would always honor his best friend Terry because he is on duty and in a ship in the middle of the sea.

Veterans Day

Reflection: I honor and thank all who are and serve in the army. For the fact that they put their lives on the line just to let our country be free and be protected. So we can sleep at night peacefully knowing that someone is fighting to protect us. I respect them and the government should give them more than they have because they deserve it. I believe they deserve more because the can die at war at any moment and that is what people/ government don’t get. They need to know that they are there for us to protect us and the government doesn't want to give them more. I think that really sucks for them because they risk their lives for us. I can relate to all those people that have someone in the army, military, air force because my uncle he has been in the marines since he was a teenager. He serves our country and he doesn't get payed that well. He had to wait a very long time for him to get a home where he can stay. Also the discounts sure they help but not as much as getting a raise of $20 or free food or maybe just a home to live in.
