Corps Officer
Duties and responsibilities: An Army Dental
Corps officer is responsible for the
dental health of Soldiers and their
families. They are also responsible for
providing health care to Soldiers’ families and others eligible to receive this care in the military community. During combat, the Dental Corps officer assists in the
emergency medical management of
casualties. Within the Army Dental Corps, you can specialize in the following
areas: Comprehensive Dentistry, Endodontics,
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and Periodontics.
Salary: $13,000-$50,000
Education: To qualify for an officer
appointment in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, you must: Meet the prescribed
medical and moral standards for appointment as a commissioned officer, Be a
U.S. citizen, Be a graduate of an American Dental Association accredited dental
school, Have a current unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the United
States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States,
and Must be between 21 and 42 years of age.
Reflection: This is a very interesting job
that I would really enjoy. Although I still would only go into the culinary
arts field if this was another option of mine I would choose it. I would choose
this career because it seems very interesting and it would be something that I would
really enjoy. The reason I like this job is because it is interesting and I would
be able to give people a big, bright, and perfect smile.
